Artists in Residence

The members of Beachside Brass, are our Artists in Residence here at Hope United!

Beachside Brass is a New Orleans style brass band based in the Beaches neighbourhood of Toronto. The ensemble was formed from Malvern C.I. alumni. Even after graduating, they continued sharing their love of the New Orleans spirit with local and international audiences alike. The group has played venues ranging from Toronto music staples such as Drom Taberna and The Cameron House, to street festivals including Buskerfest and the Beaches International Jazz Festival.

As Artists in Residence with Hope United Church, Beachside Brass continues to actively connect and maintain strong relations with their home community, playing for services a couple of times a year, as well as other special community events. With a diverse repertoire of jazz, pop, funk and soul, the band loves encouraging crowd involvement (especially dancing!), so get ready to clap your hands, move your feet, and head on down to Bourbon Street!
